General Address

Honor to the Angel of this house Pastor TC and First Lady June, To Generation Church Family , To My Lovely wife and children.

Introduction

-        Introduction : In our social media driven society we have a myraid of things we can do to keep up with the trends on twitter, instagram and snapchat. We often will like , retweet and send snaps on a regular but those people we have a closer connection with we will follow them so everything the post will populate in your feed when you logon. Paul admonishes us to do something similar -        Title: Follow the Leader -        Text: Ephesians 5:1 “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; ” -        Main Point: God is calling his people back to himself and those who respond and follow he is going to bring to a place of stablity and peace.

Supporting  Points and Scriptures

-        Point : To Follow God as a child denotes that we are acknowledging God as Father by means of relationship through the Son. o   Text : John 1: 18 “No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.” o   The nature of knowing God and Father and Jesus as the son is for the purpose of redemption. -        Point: To follow God a dear children communicates that we have capacity to follow God great than capablity to understand him. o   Text : John 14:23 “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.” o   Our dear to God is not predicated on our knowledge thought it needed, our dearness is predicated on our embrace of Him. -        Point: God is leading his people to be like his Son. o   Text: Ephesians 4:11-13 “11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers:  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:”

Close – How then shall we live?

There is more to this Jesus thing just doing better and being better. If you a keen reader you will note I produced an entire sermon for a portion of incomplete sentence…. This is both intentional and spirit led, the reason being is that if the job of the minister is done right he will leave you the responsibility to engage God based on what you heard…to seek the more and find out what the more means for you.

Appeal (The Gospel Moment) – Repent for Kingdom is at Hand

The close this message end is the way the many of the apostles message began. Repent for the Kingdom is at hand. This is the gospel message and this context some in this room need to repent from our SINS and know Jesus as Lord over our lives to begin what the scripture promises. Others of us ourSELVES, you may not be sinning but you may be living in a way that does not fit the greater he has for you. To both of us in the room the answer is the same. Repent turn a way from whatever we are facing and turn towards him. The good news that you are not left with burden of figuring it out you are left with choice to just follow the lead Christ as God leads you to the rest.
