17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20 But ye have not so learned Christ;
21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

The Lord having been gracious to me gave me a brief insight into a struggle that I have been having. He said " So what led to your fall"

I explained that it was a picture I seen of someone I knew. He explained " what you do after you have been triggered is different than what you will do before you are triggered. The flesh is like your children the moment you tell them no they start trying to sneak closer and closer to do what you told it not to do." He continues " You have to intentionally start drawing towards me in that moment."

Then he directed me to the this beloved scripture.
The thing I am drawn to in this text is two.

The first is the context between my life and this text.
V19 hits the nail on the head. Then I look at the statement he makes about gentiles in verse 17. I gwak at the concept of describing the gentiles as people devoid of God, when infact he is called to minister to them directly. But I realize he is also talking to gentiles when he is saying this which means he is expressing his affirmation for them in terms of being a new creature. Which then he contrasts in a later verse saying old man.

Gentile is then not derogatory in nature it is in fact a compliment to the work of the holy spirit.

The second standout to me is the one dealing the idea of conversation.
22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
The hot key for me is the word conversation the intution given to my by my Lord told me that this word conversation is not just exchange of ideas via words. But it is how we live and deport ourselves in the world in which we live. Peter uses the word "conduct" to help us understand what he is talking about.
I like that it is conversation instead of just way of life because it helps us understand the choices we make in relationship how act is saying something about our lives and about our God.

The word then imbues us with much power then he say put off the old man…akin to the scripture that says put away childish things. God is speaking tell me to put away those old things and ways of behaving and accept his kingdom his suggested way. Which is in the path of obedience to his spirit as he walks with us daily to manifest this new man.
Say new thing with how you live.
In the same power we put away we embramce the new man in our new conversation with the world. Created in the likeness of God created in righteousness and true holiness.

At first inception I believe I have a firm grasp of righteousness that which is credited to be based on my believe of Jesus Lordship my grip still is being evaluated but what spikes my attention the language of true holiness.

The first reaction to the statement about TRUE holiness has to do with the validate way to reach a goal. Meaning there can be other way to acertain a measure of holiness and or righteousness but there is only one true to be sure.
What is evident in the text is that each morning when we arise we have a chose to make in the clothes we put on.
